Sizes and Measuring

We have lists of microphone models and their dimensions, so we can offer suitable options for most microphones. However, for very old microphones or less familiar brands, we kindly ask you to measure the diameter and capsule height. The diagram next to this text shows how to take these measurements.

Measure the diameter and height of the capsule (d and h). The foam bore hole should always be slightly narrower in diameter than the microphone to ensure the windscreen has a tight fit and doesn’t fall off. The depth of the bore hole in the foam windscreen should be slightly deeper to fully cover the microphone capsule, ensuring no wind gets underneath.

For many microphone models, one of our standard bore sizes will fit. However, if needed, we can also create custom bores or even custom shapes.
